Background:
This week saw the second attack on BundID, the authentication service used by local authority service portals across Germany.
As a result of these attacks, extensive measures are being taken to ensure the security of the data. These measures require all service portals throughout Germany to be put into maintenance mode for probably one week.
This will lead to restrictions in the range of online services offered by the City of Salzgitter.
However, some services can still be accessed via the city's homepage. For example, the online services of the building regulations department (building applications etc.):
The interface of the building authority online platform to BundID is not affected by the attacks.
The responsible city councillor Jan Erik Bohling emphasizes: "The measure is precautionary and, according to current knowledge, no personal data is affected by attacks. I ask all citizens for their understanding, but IT security has top priority."
We will inform you as soon as the Salzgitter service portal is available again.
