Salzgitter

Exhibition "Colorful and green" in the city library

From April 12, 2024, the artist Ursula van der Veen will be presenting her work at the Salzgitter Lebenstedt City Library under the title "Colorful and Lots of Green".

The paintings of flowers, meadows and woodland are mainly created using acrylic techniques on cardboard, paper and canvas. She paints her pictures partly on location in nature, but also from memories of things she has seen and experienced and from photos and sketches. Nature, a significant starting point for her paintings, inspires her time and again and allows her positive attitude to life to flow into her pictures. When depicting the individual motifs, it was important to the hobby artist to express the uniqueness of the flowers, but also the togetherness of the plants.

Ursula van der Veen discovered painting for herself on vacation in Crete in 1994. The new light and the special colors made her reach for her brush and she created her first landscape paintings in watercolor. Her paintings continue to develop out of color, with blue in many variations being one of her favorite colors.

In painting schools in Wolfenbüttel and Braunschweig, she became familiar with the conscious use of colors and techniques.

Ursula van der Veen lives and works in Wolfenbüttel.

The exhibition will open on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 4 pm. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.

The exhibition can be seen until July 5, 2024 at the Salzgitter Lebenstedt City Library, Joachim-Campe-Straße 4, 38226 Salzgitter during opening hours (Tues.-Fri.: 9 am to 6 pm, Sat.: 10 am to 2 pm).
