Traffic on the Bundesstraße 6 from the direction of Goslar will be diverted via the temporary traffic circle at the Salzgitter-Gitter junction. The route continues via district road 32 (Alte Salzstraße), Ütschenweg, via the crossover in the area of the Salzgitter-Bad junction back onto the B6.
From the direction of Hanover, the bypass runs in reverse order.
For journeys from Salzgitter-Bad (B 248) in the direction of Goslar, the temporary bypass via Ütschenweg must also be used.
Road users from Salzgitter-Bad (B 248) wishing to take the B6 towards Hanover should continue to use the Salzgitter-Bad junction.
Due to the changed traffic routing, the state authority asks all road users to pay increased attention and show mutual consideration.
Background
The necessary work to create the small-scale temporary bypass for the new construction of the "B 6 Bridge" is almost complete. For this, it was necessary to upgrade parts of district roads 32 and 33, to widen the Ütschenweg, including a temporary bridge over the railroad tracks and to create a connection to federal road 248. Furthermore, the asphalt surface courses were renewed on the B6 in the area of the Salzgitter-Gitter junction and a temporary traffic circle was created.
In order to divert traffic from the old B6 bridge, a transverse lane was built in the area of the Salzgitter-Bad junction. Ütschenweg was widened and a bridge was built over the railroad tracks.
