Salzgitter

Active and creative during the fall vacations

Active and creative: these were the 9 to 15-year-old participants in the first week of the free "talentCAMPUS" of the Volkshochschule (VHS) Salzgitter "Bunter Herbst".

Whether indoors or outdoors: the girls and boys were creative during the "talentCAMPUS" "Colorful Autumn".

The Hamberg children's and youth club (KJT) cooked, baked and made crafts for Halloween. At Salder Castle and Museum, culture and art were experienced in a special way in the "Yoga and Art" workshop. A visit to the city library in Salzgitter-Bad included a scavenger hunt and a photo rally around the Greifpark.

The girls and boys then got creative with artistic activities such as land art and linocuts. The group also had the opportunity to try their hand at pottery and modeling. The participants would like to thank the team of instructors and supervisors for this eventful vacation week.

The Volkshochschule will also be offering the "talentCAMPUS" and special vacation adventures next year. Nothing will be revealed at this point...

Information:

The "talentCAMPUS" "Colorful Autumn" marked the end of the "Discovery tour through Salzgitter and the surrounding area" and the third free vacation workshop for children and young people aged between 9 and 15 this year. The photos taken during the workshop and those from the Easter vacation "talentCAMPus" ("Fit for the Year") and the summer vacation "talentCAMPus" ("Creative Start") will be collected and viewed for a planned photo book "Leisure Guide for Kids".

Cooperation partners for this year's "talentCAMPUS" were the Cultural Department of the City of Salzgitter (Salder Castle), the children's and youth club (KJT) at Hamberg in Salzgitter-Bad and the Salzgitter City Library.

The fall "talentCAMPUS" took place from July 7 to October 11.

The "talentCAMPus" concept is a contribution by the German Volkshochschule Association to the "Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung" program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

Further information on the "talentCAMPus" and the projects can be found on the Volkshochschule website.
