Workshop "Research around the body"

Further training for specialists and teachers: The third workshop of the new cooperation between the Volkshochschule and the "Kinder forschen" foundation starts on October 23. Under the title "Researching the body", educational professionals from daycare centers and after-school care centers as well as teachers from elementary school can take away lots of ideas.

The "Researching the body" workshop offers educational professionals and teachers lots of ideas for introducing children to how the body works.

Content: Children are often amazed at how everything in the body works: Teeth grow, wounds heal by themselves or the heart beats faster after great exertion.

In the advanced training course "Researching the body", teachers and specialists are given the opportunity to discover and explore what people learn about their bodies from the outside and how the inside can be made comprehensible. Models help to develop an idea of the internal structure and functions of the human body. Various types of models are presented in the training course. In addition, the professionals deepen their knowledge of how they can best accompany the children when building models.

Information: The workshop will take place on Wednesday, October 23, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Volkshochschule in Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 26a) and costs 75 euros.

Working materials: Participating daycare centers, after-school care centers and elementary school will receive free educational materials with ideas and background information for practical use. The material package includes: Discovery and research cards for educational specialists and teachers; discovery cards for children of primary school age including tips for accompanying learning.
