In May 2014, members of the Salzgitter Youth Parliament met for their first constituent meeting in the council chamber of the town hall to advocate on behalf of young people in Salzgitter.

After 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022, the sixth Youth Parliament began its work in May 2024. It receives suggestions and requests from children and young people in Salzgitter and develops possible solutions that are implemented in cooperation with the city administration or forwarded to the council or specialist committees.

Over the past ten years, the members of all youth parliaments have achieved a great deal in Salzgitter. This will be celebrated with all interested children and young people on September 27 from 6 p.m. at the Forellenhof Youth Culture Workshop (Forellenweg 10) in Lebenstedt.

The program includes a review of the ten years of the youth parliament. In addition, the current youth parliament will present its work and look forward to an exchange of ideas afterwards. Music and a snack will be provided, which is why, for organizational reasons, registration is requested by 20 September.
