A complete closure of the registration office is unfortunately necessary, as all administrative procedures are processed via the corresponding specialist procedure. Both communication with the Federal Motor Transport Authority and the processing of data in the local vehicle register are carried out via this system. The registration office would like to point out that "all registration offices can generally carry out deregistrations regardless of the owner's place of residence. There is a general exception to the jurisdiction regulations here."

The driving license office and road haulage divisions of the AutoService department are not affected by this measure. The registration office will be available again as usual from 04.12.2024.
