After more than 24 years as a master district chimney sweep and authorized district chimney sweep in the Salzgitter-10706 sweeping district, Thomas Rutke has now resigned. The sweeping district could not be filled, so it was temporarily divided up for three years among the other authorized district chimney sweeps for whom the city of Salzgitter acts as the supervisory authority.
Jens Soyk was also appointed as an authorized district chimney sweep for the Salzgitter-10709 sweeping district with effect from 01.07.2025 to 30.06.2032. He already managed this sweeping district from 01.07.2018 to 30.06.2025. It includes various streets in the Salzgitter-Lebenstedt district, the Salzgitter-Lesse district and the town of Barbecke in the district of Peine. The selection is based on aptitude and qualifications in the civil service.
First City Councillor Eric Neiseke began by thanking Thomas Rutke on behalf of Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel for his many years of dedicated and reliable work: "With a great sense of responsibility and a high level of expertise, Mr. Rutke has taken on public tasks in the field of environmental and fire protection in recent years. Through his commitment, he has made a significant contribution to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Salzgitter."
The First City Councillor presented Jens Soyk with the corresponding certificate of appointment for the next seven years. During his first appointment as an authorized district chimney sweep, Mr. Soyk had not only established himself as a reliable and technically competent partner, but also through his friendly manner and willingness to cooperate. "The citizens of the Salzgitter-10709 sweeping district can continue to look forward to reliability, competence and friendliness," emphasized First City Councillor Eric Neiseke.
In addition to the authorized district chimney sweeps from the other sweeping districts in the Salzgitter area and some of their predecessors, Lars Winter, representing the Braunschweig Chimney Sweeps Guild, Gülbahar Alakus-Neiseke, Head of the Safety, Law and Order Department, and Frank Bonse, Head of the Public Safety and Trade Department, were also present.
