Important information from the district electoral administration on postal voting (as of 07.02.2025):
This can be done by e-mail briefwahlbuerostadt.salzgitterde or using the online form available on the Internet at salzgitter.de. However, you can also use the application form on the back of the election notification. It is easier and quicker to apply for postal voting documents by scanning the QR code printed on the front of the polling card. It is not possible to apply for postal voting documents by telephone, but it is possible by fax.
Because the Bundestagswahl has been brought forward, according to the electoral office, the period available for postal voting has been shortened. Due to adjusted legal deadlines for the preparation and approval of election proposals, the ballot papers can only be printed from the beginning of February. Accordingly, postal voting documents can only be sent out from February 7, 2025.
From February 10, 10 a.m., postal votes can also be cast in person at the town hall in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt and at the Salzgitter-Bad branch office. Postal voting documents can be handed out during the following opening hours:

An official passport or identity card must be kept ready in any case. Anyone wishing to apply for and receive postal voting documents on behalf of another person requires a written power of attorney (maximum 4 persons).
The ballot letter must be received by the office indicated on the ballot letter by 6:00 p.m. on February 23, 2025 at the latest. Under no circumstances may the ballot letter be handed in at a polling station. The person entitled to vote must ensure that it is received on time.
