From Thursday, February 27, the Social Health Service of the city of Salzgitter is offering a group for relatives of people with mental illnesses to find out about support services, talk to each other or have mental illnesses explained to them. Registration is now open.

Psychiatric illnesses and their treatment options are just as complex as the support system. Relatives of a person with a mental illness are often also affected, have questions, are unsure how to deal with them or reach their own limits. The team from the Social Health Service of the City of Salzgitter would like to be a helpful point of contact with this group offering, which provides both knowledge and opportunities for exchange.

The content of the offer will include: psychiatric illnesses and how to cope with them; early warning signs and symptoms; information about psychotherapy, inpatient and outpatient treatment options and a guide to the psychiatric help system.

Information:

The group starts on Thursday, February 27, from 4 to 5.15 p.m. in the health department of the city of Salzgitter, Paracelsusstraße 1 to 9 in Salzgitter-Bad (former clinic). Five further dates, which build on each other, will take place weekly on the following Thursdays: March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27 and April 3.

The offer is free of charge; registration is required at the Social Health Service, Tel.: 05341 / 839 2031 or sp-dienststadt.salzgitterde
