Further Kultursommer highlights in the Mühlengarten: Havana and Aretha

The Kultursommer Salzgitter 2026 in the mill garden of Salder Castle in Salzgitter-Salder continues its concert series with two more special program items.

In addition to the accordion duo "con:trust" and the "Comedy Ladies", two outstanding formations will be making guest appearances in July, each of which stands for an unmistakable musical experience:

"Havana" - Afro-Cuban fire on July 24, 2026

On Friday, July 24, 2026, at 8 pm, the ensemble "Havana" will bring its energetic Latin program to the Mühlengarten. The eleven-piece orchestra has been one of the most renowned salsa formations in Germany for 45 years. With more than 1,200 concerts at home and abroad, "Havana" has repeatedly proven its reputation as a "figurehead for hot music".

The band, led by pianist and composer Kurt Klose, brings together top-class musicians from the German Latino scene. Rousing vocals by Rey Valencia and Sabine Wucherpfennig, virtuoso solos and a dynamic ensemble of percussion, brass, bass, piano and guitar provide a spirited salsa firework display. The stylistic spectrum ranges from mambo and rumba to chachacha, bolero and bomba to plena and Latin soul.

"Aretha - The Queen of Soul" on July 25, 2026

On Saturday, July 25, at 8 pm, "Aretha"- The Queen of Soul" will pay musical homage to Aretha Franklin, one of the most important voices of the 20th century. The tribute band brings the timeless hits of the "Queen of Soul" to life in an authentic and impressive way.

With a charismatic singer and a total of eleven musicians, the formation brings classics such as "Respect", "Think" and "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman" back to the stage. The powerful live line-up captures the essence and emotional depth of Aretha Franklin's unmistakable soul voice and creates a stage experience that will delight both long-time fans and new listeners alike.

Up-and-coming artist Emily Rose from Salzgitter will open the evening as the support act. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter impressed all four coaches on "The Voice" and reached the final (4th place). She touches her audience with her extraordinary voice and soulful pop and soul songs - honest, authentic and characterized by personal and social issues.
