The new machine had become necessary because its predecessor had been destroyed by a vehicle driving on the town hall forecourt.
This means that drivers who want to stop directly in front of the town hall no longer have to walk long distances to the machine between the town hall and the municipal library.
The prices for parking on the town hall forecourt remain unchanged: Charges apply from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 6pm, and on Saturdays, from 10am to 2pm. Parking fees are 70 cents for the first hour and 10 cents for each additional six minutes.
Short parking stays of up to 30 minutes are still free of charge. The new machine also has a so-called "roll button". After pressing it, a parking ticket for the short parking period is printed out, which - like the normal paid parking ticket - is clearly visible behind the windshield. Parking on Sundays and public holidays also remains free of charge.
