The award is open to committed individuals who have worked for a club, association or youth organization in the field of children and youth work and youth sports. They can be nominated by youth groups, sports clubs and the specialist service for children, youth and families.
The Salzgitter-Brief is awarded every two years to committed individuals who have made a special contribution to children's and youth work and youth sport on a voluntary basis, usually without pay.
With this award, the city of Salzgitter would like to recognize the honorary or voluntary commitment of citizens who are active in youth work and youth sports.
Information:
The award is intended for young volunteers who:
- have not yet reached the age of 27,
- have volunteered for at least one year as a project team member, board member, youth leader or exercise leader in Salzgitter in youth work or youth sport in youth associations, youth initiatives, sports clubs and associations or in the municipal child and youth support of the city of Salzgitter. It is not a prerequisite to be a recognized Juleica holder or a licensed exercise instructor,
- have not yet been awarded a "Salzgitter-Brief" before 2023.

Those to be honored will be personally invited to the event on March 28 (7 p.m.) to receive the "Salzgitter-Brief 2023/2024" from the Children, Youth and Family Department.
