The order of the letters in the short name of a party on the state list (second vote) has been reversed. The incorrect ballot paper must be replaced by a corrected ballot paper.

New ballot papers already in preparation
The error has already been corrected in consultation with the contracted printer and a new print has been arranged. The new ballot papers for the Bundestagswahl are currently being prepared for printing. Delivery to the responsible municipalities should take place shortly.

Consequences for the dispatch of postal voting documents to eligible voters
Due to the delays in the provision of the new ballot papers for the Bundestagswahl, postal voting documents are currently not being sent out by the cities and municipalities. As soon as the newly printed ballot papers for the Bundestagswahl have been received, it is currently estimated that postal voting documents can be sent out nationwide on Monday, February 10, 2025.

In some cities and municipalities, postal voting documents have already been sent out to voters. Voters will receive new election documents (ballot paper, ballot paper, red ballot paper and white ballot paper envelope) from the cities and municipalities and will be informed of the need to resend the election documents. The previous documents are declared invalid.

The district electoral administration and the district administration ask the affected citizens and those responsible for elections in the towns and municipalities for their understanding for the situation that has arisen. "We are working at full speed to deliver the corrected ballot papers for the Bundestagswahl to all towns and municipalities as quickly as possible," says district electoral officer Heiko Beddig.
