Salzgitter

Warning strike in the city administration

The trade unions "Komba" and "Verdi" have called on their members at the city of Salzgitter to go on an all-day warning strike on Thursday, March 13.

Within the city administration, the town hall, all external and ancillary offices, the municipal management company (SRB) and municipal employees in the job center are affected by the warning strike call.

The city administration offices will probably be open, but longer waiting times are to be expected. As things stand at present, the Citizens' Center and the registration office will only be able to serve customers with appointments and urgent matters.

The Salzgitter City Library will be open as usual in Lebenstedt and Fredenberg. The city library in Bad will remain closed due to the strike.

According to the SRB, the warning strike in the public sector may result in the collection of yellow bags, the emptying of residual waste containers and waste paper containers being canceled. Canceled collection dates will not be made up. If you have any further questions, please contact the SRB as usual on 05341 / 839-3007.

The professional fire department states: "If employees in the Salzgitter rescue service were to go on strike, restrictions in the provision of rescue services would be possible, but short-term compensation measures would be sought."
