Closing Ceremony for "City Cycling" and "School Cycling"

To announce the winners of the Salzgitter CITY CYCLING and SCHOOL CYCLING events, and to present them with prizes and certificates for their achievements—measured in the many kilometers they cycled—the City of Salzgitter hosted a closing ceremony in the Council Chamber at City Hall in Lebenstedt.

Salzgitter’s Mayor Stefan Klein welcomed the participants and thanked sponsor Nicole Mölling from Volksbank BraWo and sponsor Sven Strube from Radstudio Salzgitter —who was unable to attend the awards ceremony this time—as well as the organizing team, Katharina Migyu and Sebastian Vogt from the City of Salzgitter
He praised the cyclists’ achievements during the STADT- and SCHULRADELN weeks from May 24 to June 13. They had pedaled hard for Salzgitter and racked up many kilometers in total.

A total of 1,110 active cyclists participated in the 2026 STADTRADELN and SCHULRADELN events in Salzgitter as part of 77 teams. Together, they covered a total of 214,049 kilometers. By choosing not to drive or take the bus, a total of 35 metric tons of CO₂ emissions were avoided.
