Period and scope of the closure:

The football pitch is expected to be closed to the public from Monday, April 13. During the active construction phase, the adjacent skate park will also have to be closed for safety reasons. Once the renovation work has been completed, the skate park will be reopened immediately.

Important: The newly laid turf needs a longer resting phase to grow stably. The football pitch will therefore remain closed for an estimated eight to ten weeks after completion of the work to allow the turf to fully develop. Premature access would jeopardize the success of the renovation.

Background to the measure:

The areas in need of renovation are to be made safe and playable again, which will also enhance the value of the grass football pitch. As already announced to the local council of the village of Nordost, the grass football pitch at Thieder Lindenberg will be extensively renovated by a specialist company. In order to enable the professional repair of the playing surface, the pitch must be temporarily closed to public play (see above).

The SRB is investing a gross sum of almost 18,000 euros in the renovation work.

The SRB asks all sports enthusiasts for their understanding for this necessary measure. The football pitch on Brotweg in Steterburg is available as an alternative during the closure period.
