Around 2,000 employees work in more than 30 different departments in the city administration. They have learned a wide variety of professions.
The city itself offers some professions as apprenticeships. Examples are
- Administrative assistant,
- IT specialist,
- motor vehicle mechatronics technician and
- road warden
With a (technical) high school diploma, young people can also complete a dual course of study at the city administration. The courses on offer include:
- Administrative science
- Administrative digitization
- Civil engineering or
- Social work
In small groups, the participants get to know the everyday life of the various departments, gain many insights into practical work and can try out some exciting things.
Children and young people in grades 5 to 9 can take part in the Zukunftstag at the City of Salzgitter. Zukunftstag is organized by the young professionals of the City of Salzgitter. They accompany the participants and are happy to answer questions about their own training.
