Visitors can expect a varied mix of great concert evenings, comedy, literature, a family program and a summer festival atmosphere.
Great concert evenings in the castle courtyard
Once again this year, the organizers are bringing numerous national and international artists to Salzgitter. Rock legend Suzi Quatro will open the concert weekend in the castle courtyard on July 30 at 8 pm. Just one day later, on July 31 at 8 p.m., Schiller will bring his atmospheric sounds under the starry skies of Salder with "Sommerklang 2026".
Max Giesinger, one of Germany's most successful pop artists, will be stopping off in Salzgitter on August 1 at 8 pm as part of his "Glück auf den Straßen" tour. He will be supported by the duo Schlotte and Laurin. Also taking part in the Kultursommer: "KAMRAD", who will take to the stage on August 6 at 8 pm and is currently one of the most exciting pop voices in Europe.
For all Schlager fans, the "God of Schlager" Christian Steiffen will be coming to Salzgitter on August 7 at 8 p.m. and promises an evening of cult, party and lots of entertainment. Finally, it gets powerful and loud on August 8 at 8 pm with the Finnish cello-metal band "Apocalyptica".
Family program with dinosaur adventure and clown theater
Families and young visitors will also get their money's worth again at the Kultursommer. On August 2, at 4 pm, the interactive show "Dinotastic - 5 friends and their journey to the fire volcano" invites you to an exciting dinosaur adventure full of action, humor and impressive effects.
On 26 July at 3 p.m., Hans Göttmann's "Erwachsen?!" is a clownish solo for children that humorously tells the story of the balancing act between being a child and growing up. He will be performing on the stage in the Mühlengarten.
More intimate atmosphere in the mill garden
The stage in the Mühlengarten is traditionally a little cozier, more personal and closer than the castle courtyard. The accordion duo "con:trust" will kick things off on July 22 at 8 pm. There is already great demand for the "Comedy Ladies" on July 23 at 8 p.m. - the advance booking contingent has already been exhausted, but tickets are still available at the box office if the weather is good.
The ensemble "Havana" will bring Afro-Cuban rhythms to Salzgitter on July 24 at 8 p.m., before "Aretha - The Queen of Soul" follows on July 25 at 8 p.m. with a musical tribute to Aretha Franklin. Before the tribute band performs, Salzgitter newcomer Emily Rose will perform
The popular quartet of Majimbi Mergner, Elkmar Winter, Aneka Viering and Björn Försterling will also be performing chanson and literature under the title "Das Ding oder Dingsda" on July 16 at 6 p.m. as part of the Kultursommer.
The event traditionally concludes with the town breakfast on August 9, starting at 10 a.m. in the Mühlengarten. In cooperation with the Salzgitter Community Foundation, all visitors are invited to bring their picnic basket and have breakfast together for a good cause.
