For 45 years, this 11-piece orchestra has been one of Germany’s most renowned salsa ensembles. With more than 1,200 concerts in Germany and abroad, “Havana” has repeatedly proven its reputation as a “flagship of sizzling music.”
The band, led by pianist and composer Kurt Klose, brings together top-tier musicians from the German Latino scene. Rousing vocals by Rey Valencia and Sabine Wucherpfennig, virtuoso solos, and a dynamic ensemble of percussion, horns, bass, piano, and guitar create a spirited salsa spectacle. The stylistic range spans from mambo and rumba to cha-cha-cha, bolero, and bomba, all the way to plena and Latin soul.
Salsa fans—and anyone who wants to become one—are invited to this Afro-Cuban concert as part of the Kultursommer festival.
