Salzgitter

VHS study trip to Uzbekistan

The Volkshochschule (VHS) of the city of Salzgitter is offering a study trip to Uzbekistan - one of the most exciting countries along the legendary Silk Road - from November 4 to 13. Bookings are now being accepted.

Culturally, Central Asian Uzbekistan is strongly influenced by Islam and centuries of trading and scholarly traditions. Cities such as Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand impress with their magnificent mosques, madrasas, mausoleums and lively bazaars. The great caravan cities of the Silk Road look like backdrops from the fairy tales of 1001 Nights. Artistic mosaics, blue domes and the hospitality of the people make Uzbekistan a special experience.

But nature is not neglected during the trip either. The program includes the Kysylkum Desert as well as visits to a carpet factory, a silk factory, a farm and the summer residence of the last emir.

Information:

The trip costs 2,299 euros in a double room (single supplement 319 euros). It includes the return flight from Hanover via Istanbul to Uzbekistan, half board in mid-range hotels, the round trip in air-conditioned buses and the express train between Tashkent and Samarkand. For further information, please contact tour guide Norbert Uhde on (05371) 7502702.
