1st supplementary budget bylaws 2017 approved

The Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport approved the supplement to the 2017 budget in a decision dated November 28, 2017. The Salzgitter City Council approved the first addendum to the 2017 budget at its 12th meeting on October 24, 2017.

In negotiations with the state of Lower Saxony and the federal government, Mayor Frank Klingebiel has achieved that

1. the city of Salzgitter will receive emergency aid to finance refugee-related secondary migration costs in 2017 and 2018 via the integration fund of the state of Lower Saxony

2. the state of Lower Saxony will take ownership of the Calbecht site of the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences

3. the city of Salzgitter will receive an amount of approximately € 7.3 million for school construction measures for the years 2018 to 2020 through the Municipal Investment Promotion Package II (KIP II).

The resulting changes lead to the adoption of supplementary budget bylaws in accordance with Section 115 (2) NKomVG.
