For public waste management authorities, municipal and commercial biowaste handlers or mixture producers as well as producers and owners of certain biowaste, certain requirements apply when handling biowaste, which are set out in the Ordinance on the Utilization of Biowaste on Land Used for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture (BioAbfV). These relate, for example, to the treatment and testing of biowaste and its application to soils used for agricultural, forestry or horticultural purposes, as well as obligations to provide evidence.
