If you are married and need a new marriage certificate, you can apply for one at the registry office. To do so, please contact the registry office where you were married.

The marriage certificate serves as proof of your marriage to your spouse. It includes your first and last names at the time of the marriage and prior to it, the place and date of birth of both spouses, and the place and date of the marriage.

You can obtain the marriage certificate in the following formats:

• International Marriage Certificate
• Certified printout from the marriage registry

A certified printout from the marriage registry contains all the information that the civil registry office has recorded in connection with your marriage.

You will receive the certificate, including any subsequent entries, as a printout from the electronic registry.

If the civil status information for either spouse changes—for example, due to a name change or a divorce—the marriage entry is updated with a subsequent entry. Upon request, a new marriage certificate can then be issued to you.
