The goal of integration assistance is to prevent an impending mental disability or to eliminate or alleviate the consequences of a disability. It aims to maintain your participation in community life or to restore it following a prolonged hospital stay or extended period of isolation.
You will receive support in managing daily life. This includes, in particular:

• housing
• finances
• household management
• leisure activities
• encouraging personal relationships and hobbies,
• Dealing with government agencies (preparation and support), unless this is the responsibility of a legal guardian
• Parenting

The duration of care is generally long-term and tailored to the individual.

The costs for these services are covered by the responsible integration assistance agency once an individual need for support has been determined. Income and assets may be taken into account.

All you need to do is submit an informal request to the appropriate authority. The authority will ask you to use a form and submit additional documents.

The authority to which the application is submitted must determine within two weeks of receipt of the application whether it is responsible for the application. If the authority is not responsible, it shall forward the application immediately.
