The open burning of plant waste for disposal purposes outside of facilities authorized for that purpose is permitted as follows:

1. Approval on a case-by-case basis upon application to the competent authority, or
2. general authorization following a notification to the competent authority regarding plant waste or plant parts containing harmful organisms

Proof that the requirements have been met must be submitted with the application or notification.

Submit the application at least 6 working days before the planned burning.
