If you are a minor foreign child who has been granted a residence permit

• for family reasons (for example, to join or follow a family member, or because you were born in Germany) or
• for humanitarian reasons (for example, based on being granted asylum or recognized as a refugee under the Geneva Convention on Refugees)

and still hold it, you may, under certain conditions, obtain a permanent right of residence in the form of a settlement permit.
