Description
Vehicles designed to be operated as motor vehicles may not be operated as trailers. In individual cases, a special permit—known as a towing permit—may be granted. The following rules apply, among others:
- The towing vehicle may tow only one vehicle at a time.
- Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 4 metric tons may only be towed using a tow bar.
- The lighting equipment required or approved for use as a motor vehicle may be mounted on the towed vehicle. To the extent that such equipment is not required for trailers, it need not be operational.
