Start the ReadSpeaker webReader by clicking on the Read aloud button.

The following is also possible with ReadSpeaker webReader:

• Select the text, click on Play and have it read aloud in the pop-up menu that appears.
• Move the mouse pointer over the paragraph of a text to have it read aloud automatically.
• Display a distraction-free version of a web page with the text read aloud and highlighted in your preferred font, size and color.
  Download an audio version of your content so that you can listen to it offline.
• Have a selected text translated into a variety of languages and have the translated text read aloud to you.
• Adjust the reading speed, the colors for text highlighting and much more to suit your personal preferences.
• Select a word and look up its meaning in the dictionary.

The help tool is located in the toolbar. There you will find clear instructions on how to use each individual function of webReader. Why not read through the help to gather ideas for the optimal use of webReader!

The webReader can be activated with the key combination + "K". The key combination + "L" opens the player and starts reading aloud. Many of the webReader features also have a special key combination.

Keyboard shortcuts are activated with additional keys that differ depending on the browser and operating system (a list of the different keyboard shortcuts in different browsers can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Access_key).

Within the player and the toolbar, the user can navigate with the Tab / Shift + Tab keys and activate a specific function with the Enter key.

Select a section of text with the mouse or your finger on mobile devices.

A window now appears with the options "Read aloud", "Dictionary" and "Translate". Select "Translate" and a selection list with 16 languages will appear. After clicking on the desired language, the translation of the selected text will appear in a window.

For optimal use of the webReader, cookies should be activated in order to save the user's personal settings beyond the end of a session.

webReader is a solution that works independently of the end device and operating system used and should therefore be able to be used on the following devices and operating systems:

• All common internet-enabled end devices: PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, tablet computers, smartphones and others.
• All common operating systems: Windows, Chrome, Android, iOS, macOS and others.
• All common internet browsers:
  On laptops and PCs: IE7+, Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari,
  on mobile devices: Safari and Chrome on iOS devices, Chrome on Android devices, Chrome and Edge on Windows phones
