In the "Bewegungskompass" brochure, children, young people and their parents can find places where they can have fun and enjoy exercise together at low cost or sometimes even free of charge.

It is a guide to Salzgitter, listing the exercise opportunities on the doorstep of Salzgitter residents on 29 pages.

It contains an overview in the form of city maps and contact details for

  • Playgrounds and exercise areas
  • Sports clubs and what they offer
  • Facilities and their services (for example, family centers, children's and youth centers (KJTs), district clubs)

Why was Salzgitter selected for the Movement Compass?

Salzgitter was selected as a 3F location at the beginning of 2021 following a positive application from the Steterburg Protestant-Lutheran daycare center "Die Stiftsmäuse" in Salzgitter-Thiede. In April 2021, the network work began at the Salzgitter location.
A particularly good example of how the project is implemented in the kindergarten is the daycare center's "moving pick-up times". Weatherproof signs with movement ideas hang around the facility. Parents or other caregivers can get moving together when picking up the children, as it is already a fixed ritual for the children to combine arriving and leaving with a movement unit.

How was it financed?

The printing of the movement compass was financed by the Kreissportbund Salzgitter e.V. with funding from the Landessportbund Niedersachsen e.V. (Lower Saxony Sports Association).

Who is the publisher?

"3F - Fit for Family"
Lower Saxony Children's Gymnastics Foundation
