Sometimes serious, sometimes lighthearted, sometimes traditional, sometimes modern—Christmas is a celebration of love, gift-giving, joy, family, solitude, mulled wine—all of that and so much more.
Bauer and Fritz share stories from a literary perspective, paired with music to keep things lively and prevent them from getting too dry. Mostly lighthearted and humorous, yet also critical and thought-provoking at times, but always in the spirit of Goethe: “May all this be fresh and new, and pleasing in its meaning as well.”
The story of Christmas has inspired many poets and authors to write special verses, from the past to the present, offering both lighthearted and profound perspectives. Actor Ralf Bauer recites many of these diverse stories and, together with the music of his stage partner Pat Fritz, weaves them into a blend that is truly one-of-a-kind.
