IGS in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt

The IGS provides its pupils with a basic, extended or broad and in-depth general education and enables them to focus on individual subjects according to their abilities and inclinations.

The same qualifications can be obtained at the IGS as at the Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium. Years 11-13 at an integrated comprehensive school are run as an upper secondary school.

After a thirteen-year course of education, the general higher education entrance qualification can be acquired via the Abitur examination.
