This is associated with corresponding full closures, about which information will be provided on site with up-to-date signage. Access to the supermarkets will be possible at all times. Short-term obstructions cannot be ruled out.

The existing road surface in the three streets must be milled to a depth of approx. four centimetres and then provided with a new asphalt surface layer. Minor repair work will also be carried out at certain points.

As the renovation work can only be carried out with full road closures due to the existing road width, it will be carried out in sections. Residents with parking spaces on their properties will only be able to access them to a limited extent, depending on the progress of the work. Residents will be informed accordingly.

Due to the renovation and repair work, it is also necessary to close one bus lane at a time on the ZOB. The bus routes will therefore only be able to stop at two points from July 29 to August 4. This may lead to minor delays in the timetable. KVG, RBB and Harzbus will inform passengers of this with appropriate information on site.

In order not to excessively restrict both regular services and shopping opportunities, most of the milling and asphalt work will be carried out on Sundays, July 28 and August 4. The bus routes will be rerouted on these two Sundays. The "Schützenplatz" bus stops will be used in both directions for this purpose.

Following the surface renovation work, the "An der Erzbahn"/"Breslauer Straße" junction will be given a new traffic layout. A crosswalk and a cycle lane will be installed. Information on this will be provided in good time in a separate press release.

The schedule:

The work in the street "An der Erzbahn" in the section from the junction with Breslauer Straße to the rear access road to the supermarkets will be carried out from Wednesday, July 17, 2019 to July 24, 2019 and on July 28, 2019 under full closure. During this period, access to the stores in the street "An der Erzbahn" will only be possible directly via Braunschweiger Straße.

When the second section, the remaining area of the street "An der Erzbahn", is being renovated (probably from July 25 to July 29), access will only be via "Breslauer Straße". Appropriate information boards will be erected in "Braunschweiger Straße". The current signage must be observed.

The third section includes the ZOB and "Breslauer Straße". This will be renovated on the two Sundays mentioned above.

The contact person during the construction period is site manager Gesa Belz from the City of Salzgitter's Civil Engineering and Transport Department.

In order to minimize the impact on residents, the work will be carried out during the summer vacations when there is less traffic.

The administration asks those affected for their understanding for the restrictions caused by the construction work.

The work is expected to be completed on August 9.
