Salzgitter

Council meeting on February 19

The renovation of the auditorium in the Fredenberg school center was approved by the Salzgitter City Council at its meeting on February 19.

At the same time, the administration was commissioned to develop a more cost-effective alternative for a freight elevator in the near future. As is known, the city of Salzgitter is planning to renovate the assembly halls at the grammar schools in the districts of Salzgitter-Lebenstedt and Salzgitter-Bad. There is a considerable need for refurbishment at both locations.

According to an older council resolution, the simultaneous refurbishment of the assembly halls is not planned. It was decided that the auditorium at Fredenberg would be refurbished first and that the refurbishment of the auditorium at Salzgitter-Bad grammar school would be tackled once this refurbishment work had been completed.

Further items on the agenda: Integrated district development concept for Salzgitter-Bad, development concept for the "Schäferberg" in Steterburg, appointment of members to the children's commission, support for the youth workshop at the SOS Mütterzentrum, subsidy guidelines for allotment gardens

The meeting ended with motions and questions from the parliamentary groups. The current and detailed agenda can be viewed in the citizen information system at salzgitter.de.
