It will be available from the beginning of April at the Citizens' Centers, the Tourist Information Office, Bäder, Sport und Freizeit GmbH, the Stadtbad and at the water ski cable car. The leaflet is already available to download on the Internet at salzgitter.de.

It provides an overview of the entire local recreation area with all its swimming, sports, leisure, excursion and recreation options.

The motorhome site and pirate playground are also presented in detail. Information is also provided on the ice rink, the Stadtbad, the clubs on the lake, the water sports facilities and a selection of events.

The large color overview map shows the Salzgittersee with all its varied possibilities.

Located on the western periphery of Salzgitter-Lebenstedt, Salzgittersee has become increasingly important as a local recreation area offering a wide range of leisure activities since it was opened for swimming and water sports in May 1963.

At the end of the 1950s, planning considerations for the creation of this artificial lake, which had taken place 20 years earlier as part of the construction of a large housing estate, were resumed. In the years following the start of construction in 1960, the project reached its final size of 75 hectares in 1974.
