The adjacent dilapidated outdoor pools with large sunbathing lawns at the newly renovated Salzgitter-Lebenstedt indoor pool were closed in 2016 and have not been in use since then. As a result, there is no longer a large, attractive range of outdoor water facilities, especially for families, children, young people and recreational and sports swimmers.

The new project of a 25m all-season outdoor pool with slides is intended to compensate for this missing water area and maintain the swimming facilities for public guests, as well as for schools and clubs.

The new year-round outdoor pool covers 4 lanes with a length of 25 meters and a depth of 1.35 meters. The infrastructure of the new indoor pool can be used, such as changing and shower facilities as well as catering and sunbathing areas.
