The construction project is expected to be completed by the end of December 2022.
The preliminary work:
- From Monday, May 2, until the end of May, preparatory work will first take place for the relocation of supply lines in the section between Mathias-Claudius-Straße and Pappeldamm.
- This area will be fully closed for this purpose, but only selective excavations will be necessary.
- The properties and local roads in this area will remain accessible.
The main work:
- The sewer and road construction work will begin at the end of May.
- This construction work will be carried out in five sections, each section between the existing residential roads so that access can be maintained.
- The first section, between Mathias-Claudius-Straße and Hans-Watzlik-Straße, will be fully closed from the end of May.
- Residents will then be informed in writing about the further changes to the sections in due course.
- Each section will be fully completed during the closed periods except for the road surface course.
- At the end of the construction period, the surface course will be laid in one go across all sections. The surface course will then be paved in one day with a full road closure. This will also be communicated in writing in advance.
- Traffic obstructions are to be expected. The administration asks for your understanding.
Important:
- The bus stops will be relocated (KVG will provide information about this).
- During the entire construction period, the large-scale detour will have to take place via Panscheberg, Danziger Straße and Pappeldamm and vice versa, as was the case for the other two construction phases. The detour signs will be set up over a wide area in Thiede/Steterburg.
- Pedestrian connections in the closed sections will be made possible along Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße and adapted to the construction progress.
- The city asks residents and neighbors for their understanding for the inconvenience caused by this construction work.
- Should there be any restrictions due to construction work, residents will be informed promptly. The site manager from the City of Salzgitter's Civil Engineering and Traffic Department, Michael Wöllmer, is the city's contact person for all other questions from residents relating to this work (phone: 05341 / 839-4081).
