Salzgitter

Appointment of the new city command

One day before the turn of the year, the newly elected members of the Executive City Command of the Salzgitter Volunteer Fire Brigade were presented with their certificates of appointment by the First City Councillor and responsible fire protection officer, Mr. Eric Neiseke.

The Salzgitter City Council had previously formally approved the appointment.

Detlev Söhler now holds the office of town fire chief. The Salzgitter volunteer fire department is currently divided into three fire-fighting districts. The East fire-fighting district currently has no active fire-fighting district commander, which is why Guido von Einem has taken over the leadership of the East fire-fighting district on an interim basis as 1st deputy city fire chief. Dirk Bauer was re-elected in his function as fire-fighting district commander south. Johann Schlecht was newly elected to the position of fire-fighting district commander west.

Fire protection officer Eric Neiseke and the deputy head of the Salzgitter fire department, Martin Mann, congratulated the new appointees. Both praised the good cooperation with the volunteer fire department. They are now looking forward to working together with the new executive city command.

After 5 years in office, Andreas Sydow was no longer available for re-election due to his age. However, Sydow will remain with the Salzgitter fire department in an advisory capacity. "Especially in this day and age, volunteer work, whether in the fire department, sports club, neighborhood assistance or any other institution, cannot be appreciated often enough." With these words, Eric Neiseke expressly thanked Andreas Sydow for his service to society and wished the newly elected comrades all the best.
