Water in the city park pond is drained

The municipal management company (SRB) has announced that it will be draining the water in the city park pond in Lebenstedt from the beginning of December.

The measure primarily serves to regulate the existing fish population, which has currently become too large for the small pond and is impairing the water quality.

After the water has been drained, or during the process, the fish will be professionally removed from the water by anglers and taken to Salzgittersee.
The city park pond is not completely drained by the work, so that the amphibian population is not endangered.

The measure will also be used to remove garbage from the city park pond and to carry out technical maintenance work on the inlet and outlet of the pond. Once the work has been completed, the pond is immediately refilled with water.
