Around 50 citizens attended the second participation event on October 13, 2022 in the canteen of the Salzgitter-Bad grammar school to find out about the revised planning approaches and make their own suggestions. The employees of the planning office and the city of Salzgitter explained details of the measure and were available to answer further questions and receive suggestions.

The challenges still facing the planners in the planned implementation were discussed with the participating citizens. These include narrow or sometimes completely missing sidewalks, a lack of accessibility, no provision for cycling, such as a lack of cycle paths, a road in need of renovation and a lack of design at the entrances to the town.

The goals set for a future design are to create accessibility, widen the sidewalks and create opportunities for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road. The aim is to create an offer for cyclists, both for everyday journeys and leisure routes. There was talk of redesigning the entrances to the town. The speed of vehicle traffic is to be reduced through structural and design measures. In order to prevent illegal parking on footpaths, the current plan is to create parking spaces for vehicles. And the townscape is to be beautified by planting trees.
