The exhibition was visited by several thousand guests, who learned about how "the Silesians" once came to Salzgitter and what influence they had on the young town as well as local eating habits.
In response to popular demand, the museum team has now summarized the main contents of the exhibition in a small but substantial 48-page brochure. The richly illustrated work provides information about the background and history of the people of Salzgitter with Silesian roots and their cuisine. It also contains the individual life stories of twelve citizens, which are particularly popular in the exhibition, as well as their favorite recipes for cooking.
The book is available for 5 euros during the opening hours of the Salder Castle Municipal Museum from Tuesdays to Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.
Alternatively, it can be ordered, plus postage costs: By e-mail to museumstadt.salzgitterde or by telephone on 05341 / 839-4618 or -4619.
