65 years of music school: Congratulations!

The Salzgitter Music School is celebrating its 65th anniversary with concerts, music get-togethers, instrument petting meadows and much more. From June 10 to 15, there will be special things for guests young and old to hear, see, try and celebrate together!

The music school celebrates with many artists.

The anniversary week at a glance:

The celebratory concert on Saturday, June 10 (5 to 7 p.m., Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt) marks the start of the week: Lecturers from the music school will give a joint concert with the renowned brass ensemble "Hannover Brass". Afterwards, brass instruments can be tried out.

A special birthday concert: To mark the 65th anniversary of the Salzgitter Music School, a matinee with children and young people from the highly gifted class of the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media will be held on Sunday, June 11 at 11 a.m. in the Fürstensaal Schloss Salder . Admission is free. The program includes classics from the history of music as well as musical insider tips. The young talents are looking forward to welcoming many guests.

It is a premiere for the 65th anniversary of the music school:

Seven students from the Institute for Early Childhood Development (IFF) are coming at the invitation of the music school to present their skills. The school's gifted class has a reputation that extends far beyond Germany: children and young people who have completed their training there - even after taking their first steps in a music school - have musical doors open to them all over the world. Stars such as Igor Levit (world-renowned pianist) and Joana Mallwitz (GMD conductor) have attended this gifted class.

The program presented in Salzgitter and the performers:

Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826), Concertino for clarinet op.26 (Simon Rühlmann, clarinet, and Meng Sun, piano)

Charles-Auguste de Bériot (1802-1870), "Scènes de Ballet" (Louisa Schewe, violin)

Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1748), Oboe Concerto in A minor (RV 461), version for saxophone, I. Allegro non molto, II. Larghetto, III. Allegro (Jannes Wald, saxophone, and Meng Sun, piano)

Viva la musica - Sound festival of 1,000 strings

The table harp ensembles of the Peine District Music School and the table harp ensemble of the Salzgitter Music School, which was founded in September 2022, will give a friendship concert on Thursday, June 15, to mark the 65th anniversary of the music school. The ensembles can be heard in Peine on June 23. This was preceded by a weekend workshop during which they worked intensively on the pieces.

After their first great success in 2019 in the packed churches of St. Bernward in Ilsede and Martin Luther in Edemissen, the table harp groups from the Peine District Music School have developed a special new program under the direction of Christiane Rosenberger.

For the first time, they met for two days for a workshop with the group that has now also been founded at the Salzgitter music school under the direction of Sabine Petter and practiced together, from melodious canons and Irish melodies to film music and lively South American rhythms.

The ensembles are now looking forward to welcoming many guests who would like to hear this special interplay.

Information:

The concert in Salzgitter will take place on Thursday, June 15, at 11 a.m. in the Alte Feuerwache in Lebenstedt, Wehrstraße 27.

The ensemble can be heard in St. Jakobi Church in Peine on Friday, June 23 at 7 pm.

At least 20 table harps play together and are accompanied by Anna Peters, Kateryna Kowalen and Elisabeth Bartscher in the Saitenzauber ensemble with bandura, dulcimer and harp, inviting listeners to enjoy a melodic roundelay of a gently lively kind.

Admission is free. The Förderverein would be delighted to receive a donation for the benefit of the music school.
