Mayor Frank Klingebiel welcomed them to the council chamber together with Sandy Hagenah, Head of Human Resources and Organization. In his welcoming address, he said: "Congratulations, you have passed the selection process and are now part of the team at my city council. All opportunities and career prospects are open to you here. It will now be exciting for you in your training and studies - in the end, you will certainly say that you have made the right career choice."
The 24 junior employees will be working in six training professions and degree courses in the future. Among them are eleven trainees who are training as administrative assistants. Four new recruits will begin training as emergency paramedics. Four junior staff members are also candidates to become city inspectors. Three are starting a dual course of study in social work and one each is studying civil engineering and administrative digitization and informatics.
After successfully completing their training/studies, the junior employees have the option of being taken on as permanent employees or civil servants.
Applicants wanted for 2024
The application phase for the start of training at the city administration on August 1, 2024 is currently open until October 15, 2023. The following apprenticeships and degree courses are on offer:
- Training as an emergency paramedic
- Training as an administrative assistant
- Apprenticeship as an IT specialist specializing in system integration
- Training as a gardener specializing in horticulture and landscaping
- Training as a road maintenance worker
- Training as a building cleaner
- Dual study program in administrative science
- Dual study course in administrative digitization and informatics
- Dual study program in social work (B.A.)
