Invitation to the finissage

Paintings, models, ceramics, sculptures and much more: the works of art in this year's "Salon Salder" are as diverse as the artists. The "New Art from Lower Saxony" was on display for two months.

The wind seer. A work by Edward B. Gordon.

There are still places available in the accompanying program before the finissage on 10 November closes this special exhibition.

Art and nature: Under the title "Human Nature", the artists have looked at people in nature and created a wide variety of responses. Man as a small part of the environment; nature as a plaything of man or as a created art object.

Interested visitors are invited until 10 November to get to know the various works, engage with them in different ways and take part in the accompanying program:

Workshops for senior citizens and children: Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Under the title "Tell me something...", an intergenerational workshop for senior citizens and children aged 6 to 10 years will take place with art, movement and lots and lots of stories. In this workshop, participants will be inspired to tell stories by the works of art in the exhibition and by their own experiences of nature. By telling these stories with words, texts and pictures, the participants get to know each other better.

Matinee: Sunday, October 27, 11:15 a.m., "Georg Lichter" (Heinrich Römisch (music), Bernd Schulz (artist), Tilmann Thiemig (texts)): The matinee describes the story of Georg Lichter via image projections by Bernd Schulz, lyrics by Tilman Thiemig and music by Heinrich Römisch. Our "hero" Georg Lichter is a storyteller in the tradition of the pure fool - think of Parzival, Simplicius Simplicissimus or even Forrest Gump - who has acquired the gift of seeing the world differently, possibly "really".

Sculpture Michael and Gabriel. A work by the artist Elisabeth Stumpf.

Lecture: Sunday, November 3, 11.15 a.m.: "Man over nature?" (Dr. Christina Karla Leopold, graduate geologist and paleontologist): When did the transformation of man as part of nature to the now so common depiction as "man and nature" take place, in which man tries to move towards nature and place himself back in nature, but precisely through this formulation shows all too clearly that a separation from nature has long since taken place as a matter of course?

In this outline of the history of human development, the aim is not only to show from a scientific point of view when man first created a form of art, but also to consider the extent to which becoming aware of one's own being had an influence on setting oneself apart from nature, working against nature, conquering nature and finally giving thanks to nature.

Please register for the lecture, the matinee and the workshops (e-mail: stephanie.borrmannstadt.salzgitterde phone: 05341 8394613).

Finissage : On Sunday, November 10, Stephanie Borrmann, curator of the Municipal Art Collections of the City of Salzgitter, invites you to a tour of the exhibition with discussions at 11:15 am. Some of the artists will also be on site. Interested parties are invited (no registration required).

Guests can discover the works of art in the Salon Salder until November 10.
