But it is just as cool in the adjacent city park as it is in the building or outside in the shade. A small paddling pool and two water hoses also provide cooling...
The little footballers first test their skills and practise scoring goals. When one of the supervisors goes to the individual stations with a megaphone to remind them to drink water, the boys naturally do the same. Just like the pros at the European Championships...
Under the canopy, the children make paper airplanes, soap and small pendants out of beads at the individual tables with the supervisors. Creativity is also required for batik: the small bags are colorfully painted and placed in the sun to dry: Flowers, fantasy shapes or names shine here.
Lea and Emilia prefer to be active: The two friends are taking part in the vacation adventure days for the second time and start by driving a Kettcar under shady trees. "It's really good here," says eleven-year-old Emilia. Nine-year-old Lea joins in. "The vacations can stay like this."
They are looking forward to eating together just as much as the many other stations, such as creating stretcher frames with natural materials. But the table is currently occupied. Samanta's picture is almost finished. "A birthday present for my cousin," says the nine-year-old, who is taking part in the vacation adventure days for the first time. Seven-year-old Max is taking part for the second time and is always enthusiastic about what he can do here with other children. So is nine-year-old Marian, but he is already looking forward to the hands-on circus that will take place in the third week of the vacation...
But this municipal vacation camp is fully booked, as are the popular vacation adventure days.
Hopefully there will be a reunion next year....
Information: Salzgitter Holiday Adventure Days
This year, for the twelfth time, the City of Salzgitter's child and youth development department is offering a joint vacation event for children and youth clubs. Colleagues from the school social work team and the youth and democracy education team as well as youth leaders and federal volunteers are also involved in the organization and supervision. The Salzgitter Holiday Adventure Days (FETSZ) offer children aged 6 to 12 from Salzgitter two vacation weeks full of fun and action.
In addition to numerous games, handicrafts and creative activities, the children can let off steam with ball games and sports activities. Young artists create their own works of art, compete for victory in various tournaments and take numerous photos for a collage. You can really let off steam on the bouncy castle. But there are also other great activities on offer: balancing on the ring of Saturn via green screen, a visit to the Lebenstedt professional fire department, making dream catchers, putting your luck to the test at nature bingo or triumphing at the team game "Capture the Flag".
The first Holiday Adventure Days (FETSZ) took place from June 24 to 28.
The second Holiday Adventure Days (FETSZ) will take place from July 1 to July 5.
Around 42 girls and 48 boys from different parts of the city took part in the first vacation adventure days.
Around 90 children also took part in the second vacation adventure days.
The organizers are Dania Sarah Mrozek from the children's and youth club (KJT)-Hamberg and Jana Koch from the KJT-Thiede.
Up to 20 educational professionals (supervisors) are on site for the children.
