Stand in the spotlight for once: The girls and boys were excited and amazed at the beginning of the third week of the vacation as they looked around the large tent near the children's and youth center. The circus team greeted the children warmly and introduced them to a special world. For a week, the artists accompanied smaller groups, who were of course also allowed to get active themselves! In various roles - aerial and floor acrobatics, clowning, juggling, hula hoop, magic, trampoline, fire show and tightrope walking - the children learned new skills and abilities. Everyone enjoyed it so much that the daily "practise, practise, practise" was simply fun. And much more together, everyone agreed.
If you practice a lot, you get hungry: during the lunch break, the Graffiti children's and youth club (KJT) offered a lunchtime snack and drinks. Anyone who wanted to could play or simply relax. The organizing team Jana Koch and Dania Sarah Mrozek from the municipal children and youth development department of the city of Salzgitter also had tips.
Most of them were looking forward to the afternoon so that they could continue with the team of the hands-on circus. The children and young people had their sights firmly set on the gala performance as the crowning glory of a unique week. The anticipation was huge! Parents, friends and neighbors might be amazed!
And they were: clear the ring for the gala performance in the circus tent. Music, lighting effects and the little artists in costumes presenting the tricks they had learned. There was much applause for everyone and especially for the hard work, talent and performance.
The children were thrilled: "The hands-on circus is super cool. Especially my part in the fire show," said Nevio. For Tristin, it was "a really cool week".
It was hard to say goodbye, but maybe we'll see each other again next year? There are certainly plenty of opportunities in the vacation programs offered by the municipal children and youth development department...
