The rates have thus remained unchanged compared to previous years. However, an adjustment is likely to be made during the first half of 2025 (as at June 30, 2025). This will be necessary in order to meet the legislator's requirements for a revenue-neutral implementation of the property tax reform. Due to the insufficient data available, it is currently not possible to determine such an assessment rate.

Nevertheless, the property tax can already change for every owner - depending on the determination of the property tax assessment amount by the Wolfenbüttel tax office.

The notice of the tax initially payable from January 1, 2025 will be sent to the owners at the beginning of January 2025.

The property taxes for 2025 will continue to be due on February 15, May 15, August 15 and November 15. For taxpayers who have opted for annual payment, property taxes will be due on July 1, 2025.
