On eight dates, the Salzgitter residents, some of whom have been volunteers for years and some of whom are new to the job market, were given an insight into various topics and forms used by the city administration, the Federal Employment Agency/Job Center and the social security system.
Important: The volunteers do not offer legal advice, but help people to help themselves: they provide support in sorting documents, understanding "officialese" or finding further information, such as the official application forms or contacting the right person.
Most of the form pilots are already in action: mainly in the Lebenstedt and Bad districts and in the various facilities of welfare organizations, district and multi-generational houses or other non-profit associations and initiatives.
Information:
The "Formularlots/in" training series was free of charge for participants and the content was clear and relevant to everyday life thanks to the many presentations by practitioners.
Supported by the city of Salzgitter and sponsored by the Salzgitter Community Foundation and the Braunschweigische Sparkassenstiftung, the volunteer center describes its project as a success - accompanied by many partner institutions and their employees.
Further information on who helps where is available from the Salzgitter Volunteer Center, which continues to support the volunteers with the city of Salzgitter through further training and exchange opportunities.
The "Formularlots/in" project has similar offers in Gifhorn, Verden an der Aller and Bremerhaven.
