"There's more to the term storytelling than just 'telling stories'. It is the art of bringing together information and knowledge on an emotional level in a story," says Stephanie Borrmann, Head of the Municipal Art Collections.
Art can create moods, provide contexts and tell stories - without a single word.
without a single word. Perspective, image composition and coloring as well as lighting play decisive roles.
Storytelling can be just as subjective as our perception. However, the art lies in the fact that the same story is nevertheless evoked in the viewer's memory.
The 14 artists have done this in their own individual ways: paintings, installations, graphics, performances and much more invite you to tell special (artistic) stories.
This year's guests are:
Dagmar Brand; Lars Eckert; FRANEK; Michaela Hanemann; Lino Heissenberg; Alexander Janz; Jan Köchermann; Patricia Lambertus; Antonia Latz; Katrin Ribbe; Christian Riebe; Joanna Schulte; Bernd Schulz and Miriam Zadil.

With the annual exhibition "Salon Salder - New Art from Lower Saxony", the Municipal Art Collections present the juxtaposition and interaction of established, avant-garde and innovative art from Lower Saxony. The Salon Salder has long been an established format that distinguishes contemporary art, questions conventions and opens up space for new ideas.
The exhibition of this year's "Salon" will open on Sunday, August 31, at 11 a.m. in the Städtisches Museum (Museumsstraße 34). Interested parties are invited.
14 artists from Lower Saxony will then be exhibiting their works of art until November 2.
With an extensive accompanying program of guided tours, workshops, concerts, readings and artist talks, the gallery of the Städtische Kunstsammlungen Salzgitter is a place for discourse on artistic positions that reflect social life and raise questions about relevance, identity, values and one's own point of view.
The dates and registration options are published on the website of the City of Salzgitter (calendar of events) and on the website of the Municipal Art Collections.
