The appointment is limited to seven years, subject to reaching the age limit.
The sweeping district SZ-10710 includes various streets in the Salzgitter-Watenstedt district, the districts of Salzgitter-Thiede and Salzgitter-Drütte, the VW (Salzgitter-Beddingen) and MAN (Salzgitter-Watenstedt) plants and the Fümmelse district of the town of Wolfenbüttel.
In addition, various other streets in the Salzgitter-Bad district (including Tal- and Bismarcksiedlung) and the Salzgitter-Beinum district are currently temporarily assigned to the sweeping district as part of provisional administration in accordance with § 10 III SchfHwG up to and including 13.04.2028.
- The applicant must meet the legal requirements for the independent practice of the chimney sweep trade,
- be in good health to carry out the duties of a chimney sweep and declare this in writing,
- have the legal knowledge required to perform their duties,
- have the knowledge of the German language required to perform the duties and
- have the personal and professional reliability required for the performance of their duties.

Applicants will be selected on the basis of their suitability, qualifications and professional performance. The evaluation matrix published by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor and Transport will be used in a modified form to support the selection decision.
